Cependant, des études neuroscientifiques menées dans diffé- rents contextes dans lesquels peuvent apparaître des OBE montrent un rôle important de la jonc- tion temporo-pariétale, région associée à l’inté- gration des informations multisensorielles et à la conscience de soi. L’étude des OBE pourrait permettre l’étude des fonctions et des structu- res qui sous-tendent les aspects de la conscience en condition normale telles que la conscience corporelle, la perspective visuo-spatiale égocen- trique, la conscience de soi et l’agentivité c’est- à-dire la conscience d’être l’agent, l’acteur de nos actions, pensées et sentiments.
